11+

1. The following awards and scholarships are available at 11+ entry for September 2012:

• Two Academic Scholarships of up to 15% termly fees awarded on the results of the Entrance Examination and Interview

• Two Music Scholarships:

1. The Daphne Herbert Choral Scholarship – up to 30% termly fees               
2. The Music Exhibition Scholarship – up to 20% termly fees

• Two Sports Awards of up to 10% termly fees (means tested)

Sixth Form

2. Sixth Form Music Scholarship based on audition.  Awards for Art and Academic Excellence are also available at Sixth Form level based on GCSE results, aptitude and interview.

Sixth Form Music Scholarship – Auditions held in the Summer Term

1. One Sixth Form Music Scholarship – up to 30% termly fees.
2. Further Scholarship Awards – up to 20% termly fees to gifted individuals

3. Choristers Awards up to £800.00 per annum

4. Art Exhibition Award up to £500.00 per annum available to 15+ pupils and Sixth Form pupils who have demonstrated ability and excellence

5. Sixth Form Drama Award up to £500.00 per annum available to pupils who have demonstrated ability and a commitment to drama

Bursaries

We have financial assistance for those parents who would like to consider Abbey Gate College but could not normally afford it.  All Bursary places are subject to means testing.  We usually have one fully funded Bursary place available and an additional number of subsidised places available for Year 7 entry. These measures help to give wider access to families who would not usually have the opportunity to consider independent education.  The allocation of these funds is restricted and carefully administered; we aim to ensure that financial support is given where it is needed.
