Aldford Parent/Child Weekend: September 22nd – 24th
Eighteen
families enjoyed the annual Parent/Child weekend at the Glaramara Centre in the

Harvest Festival
As is now tradition our first whole school event of
the year was the Harvest festival service at
National Book Week
The school celebrated National Book Week with a host
of classroom based activities that culminated in a fancy dress run by our
Social Committee.
Books
were made and reviewed, spells were conjured, poems written and extracts from
books acted out.
Each
class presented their work at our Friday whole school assembly.
Pictured
are children from each class proudly showing off their work.
Bonfire Night
Those
families that accepted the invitation to attend the Grosvenor
Estate’s bonfire and firework display were treated to a spectacular night out.
Everyone that attended agreed that this was by the best display ever. The
children were treated to free food and refreshments and waited in eager
anticipation to see if the Aldford Guy (looking suspiciously like Mick Hucknall) would win the ‘Best Guy’ competition.
Unfortunately, Mick didn’t win and along with a dozen other usual suspects was
tossed onto the enormous bonfire, which had been spectacularly lit by a rocket
firework. Then followed the firework display, which was truly mesmeric. Accompanied by atmospheric music it was a display
to remember.
