Information for 6th Form students
This year we propose to introduce A.S. (possibly A.2) Drama and Theatre Studies.
For A-Level we will follow the AQA Drama and Theatre Studies Course, of which 40% is practical work and 60% is written.
The AS-Level involves: the presentation of an original piece of drama; a written examination following the study of two set plays; and, two written examination responses to theatre in practice.
At A2 students will: put on a group performance of part of a play text; sit a written examination on the interpretation of aspects of performance of two plays; and, be examined in a written paper on putting theory into practice.
This modular Advanced Level examination is in two parts with the AS and A2 each representing 50% of the total award.
