We are very fortunate at Abbey Gate College to have an active, thriving Social Committee, made up of staff and parents.  It is an integral part of the school community.

Over the years, we have raised money for the school for those "nice to have extras” that benefit all pupils. We also help the school support their chosen charity for the year. The Social Committee however is not just about fundraising. As well as being great fun, it is an excellent way of meeting other parents, staff and making new friends, all with a common goal of supporting and enhancing school life and that of our children.

The main meetings are usually on a Tuesday evening at 7pm at the College, once every half term, whilst smaller groups may meet during the day over a cup of coffee. Regularity of these meetings is dependant on any given event and the work it entails.

The Social Committee support the school with such events as: Open Day, Sports Day and New Parents evenings.

Events for the coming year 2012/2013:

• Regular parents coffee mornings (dates to be advised)
• Wine Tasting - Friday 23rd November - Bishop Lloyd's Palace, Chester - 7-10pm

The Committee always welcomes new members, with the only requirement being some of your time and lots of enthusiasm!  We also have a ' helpers list for those people who are able to lend a hand during the year.

Whether as a Committee member or 'helper', assistance of any kind is gratefully received.
