Junior
Curriculum
At Aldford School, our curriculum is aimed at developing each child’s full potential in a motivational, happy and caring environment.

Our broad curriculum includes all the subjects highlighted by the National Curriculum, as well as drama, ESB (English Speaking Board) cookery, French and Spanish. Learning is based around acquiring and developing key skills and knowledge through creative and investigative experiences. Our academic expectations are high and lessons are typically challenging with each child encouraged to undertake every activity to the best of his or her ability.
Learning is brought to life at Aldford through thematic planning and each term study focuses around a topic. This method of teaching develops coherence between the subjects, encouraging pupils to apply skills across the curriculum. Trips and visits are planned each term to support the topic, ensuring the pupils have first hand experience of what they are learning.
