All classes spend a morning each week at the Senior School. Here they are able to take full advantage of the excellent sporting, technology and music facilities and resources. Year 6 pupils spend the whole day at the Senior School each week, which includes eating lunch in the refectory. This day ensures that our pupils become familiar with the Senior School environment, staff and routines in preparation for their transition to Year 7.

The Junior curriculum is thematic and has a challenging and creative emphasis. Some of the exciting topics studied during the Juniors are Rainforests, Superheroes, Ancient Egyptians and France.

English and maths are taught daily and high expectations for attainment in these areas are maintained. Individual targets are set to ensure each child reaches their potential and makes good progress.

Trips and visits are incorporated into each term as well as annual residential visits to the Lake District and France. A full extra curricular programme is provided for Junior pupils catering for many different interests. Some of the opportunities available are dance, football, rugby, netball, ju-jitsu, cookery, art and skiing. The timetable varies each term to allow all pupils to experience different activities.

Places in our Junior classes are in high demand. Offers are made based on an assessment focusing on age appropriate English, Maths and Reasoning skills as well as conduct.
