Aldford School Science Week
Aldford School recently celebrated Science Week with five activity filled days that were greeted with great enthusiasm and interest by the pupils. The children made bath fizzers and lava lamps and remoulded soap.

They investigated Vitamin- C rockets, exploded rocket mice and discovered which biscuits is the most dunk able. The Year 6 pupils became teachers for the day taking each class through a range of experiments with M&Ms and Skittles.
The mobile planetarium from Techniquest visited the school and entertained the pupils with a range of presentations involving stars and the Solar System. Mrs Webb, a parent and physiotherapist, gave talks to the infants and juniors about bones and movement, whilst Mr Gideonse from the Foregate Street Dental Practice taught children about how to look after and how to clean their teeth. The Science Week concluded with the rather sticky spaghetti and marshmallow construction challenge!
