£1500 raised for Children in Need

Pupils throughout the Senior and Junior Departments of Abbey Gate College have raised close to £1500 for Children in Need this year.

Teachers at Aldford School wore stripes, while staff and pupils from Years 7 to 11 at the Senior School dressed in spots; the Sixth Form dressed in fancy dress.

The Sixth Form Prefects organised the day which began with a teachers Weakest Link and assembly about the Children in Need cause.

This was followed by a tuck shop, penalty shoot out and for the first time ‘teacher curling’.  Pupils selected a member of staff and were challenged to push them the length of the sports hall on a specially made tea tray.  Prizes will be awarded to those who achieved the greatest distance and the winners of the raffle prizes, that included tickets for the upcoming Saturdays concert, will be drawn in a forthcoming assembly.
This fundraising is on top of the £20000 that the College raised for Save The Family last year and that which has begun for the new College charity this year, which is The NeuroMuscular Centre in Winsford.
