Aldford comes out on top at annual show
Pupils from Aldford School, Junior and Infant Department of Abbey Gate College, were very successful in the recent Aldford Onion Club Annual show, which took place on Sunday 7th September in Aldford Village Hall.
Luca Richards (5) and Millie Webb (6) went head to head in the ‘Biggest Marrow’ competition. Luca piped Millie to the post and took first place, with Millie coming in second. Millie also won first place in the ‘painted egg’ category. Aldford School has it’s own allotment in the ground of the school – outdoor education and the environment are an important part of the curriculum. The pupils have enjoyed a good harvest of broad beans and peas and are now cultivating pumpkins for Halloween!
