New classroom and adventure trail for Aldford School

It has been all go down at Aldford School this summer with the arrival of a new classroom and fabulous adventure trail.

newclassroomAs part of their commitment to continually improve facilities for the pupils at Aldford School, the College Governors arranged for a new classroom to be quite literally ‘transported’ into the grounds of the school.

Due to access restrictions to the back of the school, the classroom was carried in three pieces over the roof of the school by two enormous, 45 tonne cranes. It was certainly not a sight you would see every day! Once in position, Mr Sutton and his team set about making it into a wonderful new classroom for our eldest pupils and it will also serve as the future base for our Out of Hours club which will hopefully open in the coming months.

The provision of an adventure trail was the Aldford Social Committee’s target last year and they succeeded in being able to fund a challenging and exciting trail. The trail consists of a range of equipment to challenge pupils of all ages and has the unique addition of a solar powered digital timer to allow children to engage in some healthy competition! The staff and pupils would like to extend their thanks to all the members of the Social Committee who worked tirelessly to raise the funds necessary.

Not ones to rest upon their laurels, the committee have already launched their next event for parents and friends of the school  which is horse and pig racing at Cruise in Chester on the 7th October. Whatever will they think of next?
