Award Winning Gardens Retain Their Local Title
Having been awarded 2 first places and a 2nd place in the last 3 years, Abbey Gate College has once again been awarded first place in the ‘Something Blooming Marvellous Competition’ run by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Judging in the Business/Public Premises Category was completed in July of this year by Eleanor Johnson, the Mayor of Chester, and a panel of judges and the Awards Ceremony was held earlier this month at the Burleydam Garden Centre, who sponsored the event.
The gardens are maintained by Head Gardener Alan Kift and Helen Grant and they are understandably delighted to receive recognition for all of the hard work and planning that takes place throughout the year. The Gardens will be open to the public on Sunday 15th April as part of the National Gardens Scheme and all of the proceeds of this day will go to Claire House, who provide the refreshments, and charities chosen by the National Gardens Scheme (please see their website for further details).
