National Awards for Music Scholars
Two pupils from Abbey Gate College have just received The Exhibition Award for 2010 from Trinity College of Music.
This award is for being in the top 10 scorers in the Country for the year 2010. Nicholas Bradley (Saxophone) gained 100% in Grade 8 and Emily Burnett gained 96% in Advanced Certificate Singing. Nick is currently completing his GCSE’s, including Music, and last week was selected to demonstrate the grade 8 repertoire to music teachers as part of a presentation of Trinity exams held at Dawsons Music Shop in Chester. Two weeks ago he participated in the Chester Music Club Young Musicians evening accompanied by John Gough and this week he came 3rd in the new Chester Young Musician of Chester competition.

Emily, who attained an A grade in her Music A Level, has recently started as an undergraduate at Durham University reading music. She has already auditioned successfully for three choirs beating off the competition from more experienced 3rd year students.
We are incredibly proud of the achievements of both students and it is testament to their hard work and dedication, plus, the incredible level of commitment given by all of the music teachers at the College.
