Gung Hei Fat Choy - 2012 Year of the Dragon!
On Wednesday 25th January, the Infant pupils of Aldford School spent the day learning about the traditions and customs of Chinese New Year.
Celebrating the Year of the Dragon involved all the children in a day of craft activities, music and dancing. They made picture frames containing the Chinese symbol of the animal from the year they were born, springy dragons, cards, money wallets and handprint dragons. Later in the day, using decorated sheets the pupils made a dragon and performed a dance with a dragon head at the front! All the children dressed up in a range of costumes including wearing red as a symbol of good luck.
