A very hot evening saw the Cheshire Cup adventure start as two evenly matched teams battled for supremacy.  Abbey Gate had the edge in attack and Fergus Cowper, Tom Donald and Jorge Percival all outpaced the home defence in the first 15 minutes but failed to take excellent opportunities.

With the driving runs of Billy Reeves and the intelligent passing of Eddie Speed and Josh Kresynak the College took control of the game. Despite dominating play the deadlock could not be broken. Half time 0-0.

The second half saw an early breakthrough with Tom Donald latching onto a Jorge Percival through ball to pass the ball into the goal with the ball just reaching the side netting as defenders valiantly tried to clear it. After this a number of chances came and went with Blacon defending enthusiastically and with a fair degree of luck!

A tense finish looked on the cards until Jorge Percival finally settled the tie with a toe poke finish with only 2 minutes left.  This was a great team performance with the quality of passing and possession noted by the many supporters who came to watch.
