U16s v Bridgewater School
ISA League (Home)

Lost 0-5

A severely depleted team with, seven Year 10 pupils, gave a gutsy rearguard display against a very talented Bridgewater team. Sometimes you learn more about a team in defeat; character and a never say die attitude shone through despite the college chasing shadows for long periods.

An early Bridgewater goal set the tone and their slick passing was too good for our young team, however five minutes from half time the score was still only 0-1. Unfortunately a flood of goals through good play and poor defending saw the game over as a contest at half time; 0-4.

The second half was more even mainly due to the unfailing effort of Henry Smith and Josh Marrs in midfield and the shot stopping of Otis Chamberlain in goal. Otis also managed to be our best attacker as three of his kicks form the edge of his own area sailed over the opposition bar on the first bounce!

With only one further goal for the Bridgewater attack, the second half  was a moral victory for the college and their rearguard action. The team have to remember they have beaten teams by the same margin and more recently!
