Hockey - Year's 8, 9 & 10 v Rydal Penrhos - Lost 0 - 1

This match was a good game for the spectator but frustrating for players from both teams. 

End to end hockey was played in the first  half with missed chances by both teams.  The second half was equally tight and both teams played some nice hockey.  It was a very close game which ended up with Abbey Gate losing by one goal to nil.  The goal was a messy one; both teams frantically jabbed at the ball close to the goal mouth with no real direction being applied by any player.  Unfortunately for Abbey Gate luck was not on our side when the ball finally trickled over the line.  Throughout the game our midfield players managed to distribute the ball well and we played with consistency in defence.  Our success rate in the circle was disappointing and has highlighted a focus for our next training session. 

Final Score:  0 – 1 (loss).
