Football - U11's v Queen Elizabeth Grammar, Blackburn - Won 0-10
This week the Aldford U11 football team travelled to Blackburn for their 2nd round ISA cup match against Queen Elizabeth Grammar School (QEGS).
Conditions were awful and the boys struggled to find their form in the opening exchanges. But, after a closely contended ten minute spell, Aldford began to find their rhythm and the football we have grown accustomed to experiencing from this team began to flow. We were three goals to the good at half-time and looking very comfortable. The second half saw even more of the same with QEGS struggling to retain possession. Goals inevitably followed with the penultimate being the pick of the bunch. A seven man move from back to front which saw every player touch the ball before George Macready slid it into the back of the net. Even the opposition spectators applauded a superb display of passing football.
Well done team and thank you to Mr Dearling who has nurtured this team for the past two seasons. QEGS were very gracious in defeat and excellent hosts.
