Cheshire Schools' Cross Country Success

Congratulations to the 7 Abbey Gate College runners who made it through to the Cheshire Schools’ Cross Country Championships that was held at Whitby High School on Saturday 14th January. 

 
Will Parsons and Will Tomlinson competed in the Junior Boys race while Jonathon Fraser-Cox ran in the Senior Boys competition.  For the girls, Ellie McCarthy ran in the Junior Girls race and Jessica Thomas, Isobelle Burton and Alice Geldenhuys took part in the Minor Girls event. 
On a partly frosty, partly muddy course in very cold conditions the racing proved to be very demanding but all of the competitors gave it their best and particular mention goes to Will Parsons who, despite being in Year 8, finished 3rd in the combined Year 8/9 race and Jessica Thomas who was 12th in the Minor Girls event.
Both of these pupils will now compete in the Inter Counties Match against the West Midlands.  The event will be held at Barony Park, Nantwich on the 4th February and the College wish them all the best.
