Abigail's amazing year continues
Congratulations to Abigail Lee who is continuing the fine tradition of horse riders at the College.
Abigail has just competed with her pony Tully at the Cheshire Agricultural Show on a day filled with sunshine. Competing in the Working hunter class, which is a round of rustic jumps followed by a short show in front of separate judges, they are marked on manners in both phases, conformation, type and whether they go clear around the jumps. This is a huge show whereby people come to compete from far and wide so she was up against a very high standard of horses and riders but Abi and Tully rose above it all and jumped a perfect round getting top marks for manners to come a fantastic 2nd overall.
To add to a very exciting week Abi and Tully competed in the Area Riding Club Horse Trails at Kelsall Hill which is a One Day Event consisting of Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country, a lot of mud was involved with this one, much to Abi and Tully's delight. We are thrilled to say they won overall by completing a fantastic Dressage, clear Show Jumping round and an amazing clear Cross Country section giving her a clear lead of 17 Points and has qualified for the National Championships at Aston-le-Walls, held at the beginning of August.
Abi and Tully's success has been down to a huge amount of hard work and dedication and we are very proud indeed of her achievements. These two events are just the latest in an amazing year to date, qualifying for five National Championships so far in 2012.
Well done Abi and we wish you all the best for the rest of the year.
