Under 12s v Kingsmead (Home)
Won 5-0
A damp and foggy afternoon saw an energetic and enthusiastic display by a mixed Yr 7 & 8 team. An early strike by Patrick Henderson was the only difference between the teams in a lively first half until just before half time when Matthew Steventon dribbled along the touch line and shot in from a narrow angle. Half time 2-0.
The defence held firm with Ben Clare and Tom Mills making telling tackles at vital moments. A scrambled second goal from Pat Henderson was soon followed by a rasping finish form his brother Tom, who provided great drive in midfield throughout.
A fitting end was the completion of his hat trick by Patrick Henderson but the praise goes to the whole team who passed and moved much better than at any time this year.

Man of the match: James Fairclough; tireless running all game on the wing.

Under 12s V Christleton High School (Home)
Lost 0-5
A first outing of the season saw a strong Christleton team soon take control with three early goals. Resolute defending from Ben Biggs and some brave challenges limited the opposition to only one further goal before half time. Half time 0-4.
A much more energetic performance in the second half limited the opposition and both Patrick Henderson and Ben Biggs were unlucky not to score. Matt Povey made some fine saves and the general defending was much better allowing only one further goal.
A tough introduction to senior school football against a very strong team and the team now need to work on retaining possession more in future games.
