Under 13s v Bishops Heber (Away)

Lost 40—17

Try Scorers: Tom Donald (3)

This was a huge test for the College team who have had a long spell away from the game and who were up against a very well drilled and prepared Heber team. However, the College team were once again brave and courageous in their attack and defence. Joshua Kresnyak was critical for the backs who organised and drove the team forward, while Alistair Hughes and Henry Mackie drove the forwards. There was debutants in the College team, namely Ben Biggs, Patrick Henderson, Matthew Povey, Jack Dudley who performed superbly well.

Bishops Heber scored the first try with a quick response from the College team who failed to convert the Tom Donald try. Heber drew more blood by scoring and converting another two tries but only to be pinned back by another two Tom Donald tries to make the scores 21-17 at half time.

The second half was evenly matched as the first, however Heber were slightly more clinical in the final 3rd of the pitch and managed to take their chances and score a further three tries without response. The College team fought to the end and deserved to get something out of the game.

The team should feel confident going into the rugby festival on the 19th November after this fantastic display.

Man of the Match: Alistair Hughes – A fantastic display with strong tackling and excellent commitment.
