The Curriculum

Abbey Gate College delivers a curriculum which is reviewed and adapted as and when necessary to take account of the changing educational needs of all of our pupils as they face the increasingly complex demands of the 21st Century.

The curriculum is based on a clear set of aims which reflect the educational philosophy of the College. In the Sixth Form we offer an open choice from a list of 21 subjects including the traditional A level subjects as well as subjects such as Psychology, Geology, Business Studies, Theatre Studies and ICT.  Most students will study 4 subjects in the Lower Sixth and 3 in the Upper Sixth, though we work with the students on an individual basis to ensure their study programme matches their individual needs and ability.

In addition to their study of academic subjects all pupils follow a broad programme of PSHE and Physical Education.
