The Physics content at A-Level is relevant to real world experiences and is interesting to teach and learn. This Physics specification is a stepping stone to future study to ensure students develop the skills that Universities want to see. This approach has led to a specification that will inspire students, nurture a passion for Physics and lay the groundwork for further study in science or engineering.
The full A-Level is taught over two years with 3 exams of 2 hours each at the end of the upper sixth year. Lower Sixth: 1. Measurements and their Errors 2. Particles and Radiation 3. Waves 4. Mechanics and Materials 5. Electricity Upper Sixth: 6. Further Mechanics and Thermal Physics 7. Fields and their consequences 8. Nuclear Physics 9. OPTION – Astrophysics
