On January 16th,  an assembly was held at Abbey Gate College for all Senior School and Sixth Form pupils.  This one hour presentation was in relation to cyber bullying, distribution and making of indecent images, the pitfalls of social media and the consequences of when it all goes wrong.

Presenter DC Andy Kevan is the Cheshire Constabulary Protect and Prevent Officer currently working within the Cyber Crime Unit, and during the last 9 months he has been visiting high schools across the Cheshire.

Mobile phones and Social Media issues remain one of the biggest problems in all schools.  The presentation is designed to address the issues in a direct, no-nonsense approach, and follows one of Andy’s investigations of a 14yr old Cheshire student.

The presentation was gripping and captivating, and pupils were engaged with all the DC Kevan had to say.
