Teacher of Business (Part-time - 0.6 FTE, fixed term contract from February 2026 until 31/08/2026)

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, caring and committed Teacher of Business to join our thriving department, from February 2026 on a fixed-term contract (0.6 FTE, equivalent to 15 lessons per week) until 31/08/2026.

The successful candidate should be a highly effective practitioner with a passion for Business, excellent subject knowledge, and a proven track record of driving outstanding student outcomes.

The post holder will teach Business across all Senior School year groups, up to and including A Level, delivering inspiring, differentiated lessons that accelerate student progress.

The Business & Economics Department:

The department includes the Head of Business & Economics and this part time experienced Business specialist post. The department is dynamic and resourceful and works to enthuse students as well as encourage them to become independent learners.

Design & Technology Technician (Permanent, term-time only, 4 days (30 hours) per week)

We are looking to appoint a suitably experienced and skilled Design & Technology Technician to join our dedicated support staff team.

Please be aware that Abbey Gate College is not based in Chester city centre.  We are approximately 10 – 15 minutes’ drive from the city centre, in a rural location.  Therefore, own transport is required.

Job Description:

Line managed by our Head of Design & Technology, our Design & Technology Technician provides support for the department and students alike, working across all areas of the curriculum in Key Stage 3, 4 and Sixth Form.

Minibus Driver (Permanent, part-time (hours) term-time only)

We welcome applications from candidates wishing to work 20 hours per week, term-time only, which covers the morning and afternoon minibus shifts.

We would, equally, also like to hear from candidates who would prefer to work 7.5 hours per week, term-time only, which covers the morning shift only, or from candidates who would prefer to work 12.5 hours per week, term-time only, which covers the afternoon shift only.

Option One: Mornings & Afternoons

20 hours per week, 7.00am – 8.30am and 3.00pm – 5.30pm, Monday – Friday, term-time only

Option Two: Mornings Only

7.5 hours per week, 7.00am – 8.30am, Monday – Friday, term-time only

Option Three: Afternoons Only

12.5 hours per week, 3.00pm – 5.30pm, Monday – Friday. term-time only

Job Description:

Line managed by our Head Caretaker, you will play an important role in safely transporting pupils, on one of our minibuses, to and from the College, and also between our Senior School in Saighton and our Infant and Junior School in Aldford.
