Our main points of entry are at Foundation (Reception), Year 7 and Sixth Form, but we do consider new pupils in other year groups, if there is space available.
We encourage all potential applicants to visit our College and personally meet with the Head, Mr Jenkinson, for Senior, or Mrs Hickey, for Junior. Please complete the ‘Talk to Us’ form and we will contact you to arrange an appointment.
Alternatively, you can contact the Admissions Manager, Mrs Sam MacLaren, directly on 01244 564170 or admissions@abbeygatecollege.co.uk
Entry into Years 3-11 is by Entrance Examination and by observation-based assessment for the Infant School (Foundation -Year 2). All students meet with the respective Head during the application process.
Depending upon the year group of entry, the Entrance Examination consists of a standardised, online test, a Creative Writing or Comprehension exercise, and a Mathematics examination; please contact the Admissions team for further information. We are, however, unable to provide past papers.
Our Sixth Form entry requires an interview with the Heads of Sixth Form, after which a conditional offer will be made and will be dependent upon agreed GCSE grade requirements. Our standard requirement is Grade 6 or above in the chosen A-Level subjects (or relevant subject), Grade 5 or above in English and Maths and Grade 4 or above in non-related GCSE subjects.
If you are ready to submit an application, please click on the ‘Apply Now’ form.

We would love to show you around our College, so that you can see for yourself what a special community this is.
