Abbey Gate College Footballers Triumph in ISA North Tournament

Yesterday afternoon we were delighted to host the ISA North 8 a side tournament with eight other schools travelling to Saighton Grange.
The College fielded a team of Year 9 students, with some Year 8s playing up, in fast flowing matches in a 9 team round robin format, with no offsides to ensure fast flowing football. Our squad of 12 players all played their part in winning all 8 of their games.
Special mentions to sprightly Fabian V at his best and Sam S, Charle E and Jack C driving the team forward, goals flowed from Ewan D, Lucas D and Charles PS.
The defence controlled any opposition attacking threat, players Bodie R, George TB and Sam M dominant at the back.
Notably goalkeeper Toby C who made one important save in the vital game and did not concede throughout the tournament. The overall win was testament to a real team effort.
Huge thanks to Beech House, Bridgewater, Beech Hall, Crassly, Hulme Grammar, Scarsbrick Hall, Huddersfield and Hulme Hall schools for attending.
