To celebrate World Bee Day, our Year 3 class enjoyed a delightful return visit to Deewater Grange Care Home as part of our ongoing inter-generational planting project. The afternoon was full of smiles, soil, and a little bit of a buzz – quite literally!

Our pupils were greeted warmly by the residents, staff, and one particularly enthusiastic little bundle of fur, setting the tone for a joyful and relaxed afternoon. In a continuation of the project started by Junior 6 last term, the children helped residents plant out carefully nurtured seedlings in the care home’s gardens.

In honour of World Bee Day, we’re thrilled to announce the opening of a new branch of A-Bee Gate College – nestled among the flower beds and bee houses, ready to welcome all things winged and wonderful.

As always, the experience went beyond gardening – it was a chance for young and old to connect, share stories, and enjoy time together. And to top it all off, everyone was treated to a fabulous afternoon tea provided by Deewater Grange, which was met with unanimous delight!

Plans are already buzzing for a return visit in the autumn (with more cake, naturally), and we’re looking forward to continuing this special partnership.
