Back in September 2022 eleven Junior 5 and 6 pupils embarked on another journey of scientific discovery in their after school More Able and Talented Science Club, with Senior School Biology teacher Mrs Dolan.

This year, their quest was to complete eight mini science projects. If successful, they would achieve the prestigious CREST Award. CREST is a scheme that inspires young people to think and behave like scientists and engineers and gives young people aged 5–19 the chance to choose their own subject and methodology when completing their hands-on investigation.

Our scientists investigations ranged from designing, building and testing potentially ‘unsinkable’ boats to gaining an insight into anatomy by dissecting chicken wings and pigs hearts!

The pupils worked really hard, demonstrated fantastic team work and had lots of fun in the process.

Mrs Dolan is thrilled to announce that all the pupils passed their CREST awards with flying colours

Well done to all the pupils for their hard work (even if it was a lot of fun!).
