Abbey Gate College’s equestrian squad enjoyed an outstanding weekend of success at the NSEA Schools National Championship Qualifier 2025, held over two days at South View Equestrian Centre.
On Saturday, the competition began with Arena Eventing and Jumping with Style. Year 7 pupil Amber K rode superbly to take first place in the 80–85cm individual class – a tremendous achievement at such a competitive event.
Amber’s winning streak continued on Sunday in the Show Jumping classes, where she not only claimed victory in the 70–75cm but also the 80–85cm individual class, securing three qualifications for the National Championships in October.
Amber then joined forces with Olivia A and Tess W in the 80–85cm team event, where their combined efforts secured 1st place and a team qualification for the nationals. Olivia also rode strongly to finish 6th individually in this class.
The squad’s success did not stop there. In the 90–95cm event, Year 10 riders Tess W, Olivia A, Lorena L and Skye J showed impressive teamwork to achieve a fantastic 2nd place finish.
Adding to the medal haul, Sandy W produced a superb round in the 1m–1.05m class, finishing 2nd individually and also qualifying for the national stage.
While Tabatha unfortunately had to withdraw on the day, she remains an integral part of the team’s spirit.
