Abbey Gate College is delighted to celebrate excellent GCSE results for their 2024–25 cohort; reflecting the hard work, talent, and determination of students, together with the dedicated support, guidance, and care of staff.
This year’s results highlight, more strongly than ever, the College’s success in nurturing personal excellence. These students have significantly exceeded national expectations, with around 50% achieving at least one full grade higher than predicted in each of their subjects, on average. And, impressively, several students’ results were as much as two or even three grades above their initial projections, recognising superb progress at Senior School level.
Such outcomes are a testament to the College’s personalised approach to learning and development; working with each student’s individual strengths, adapting to meet their needs, and providing a support network that is second to none. This tailored and bespoke ethos is complemented by a wide range of opportunities beyond the classroom, aiming to ensure that students maintain a healthy balance during these critical, formative years – developing self-worth and confidence, as well as a sense of service to others and a personal purpose.
The College’s unique setting; with its abundant green space and natural sense of calm, surrounding stunningly beautiful, historic buildings and grounds; further creates an environment where students can flourish both academically and personally.
Headmaster, Craig Jenkinson, commented:
“My staff and I are immensely proud of this group of GCSE students, especially given some of the challenges they worked through at the start of this decade, which should not be under-estimated. Their results not only reflect their own hard work, resilience, and determination but also the strength and care of the hugely supportive community here at Abbey Gate College. With our nurturing environment, high standards, and opportunities to develop both in and out of the classroom, our students are consistently encouraged to aim high and achieve more than they thought possible.”
The College looks forward to welcoming so many of this GCSE cohort back into the Sixth Form, where they will continue to be challenged, inspired, and supported to reach their future goals.
