Abbey Gate College Year 7 Rugby Team Developing Skillfully

Our Year 7 Rugby squad has had a busy week, putting the skills learned in lessons into action against other schools.
Last week the boys made a trip up the Wirral to Wirral Grammar to play in a triangular fixture against Wirral Grammar and Birkenhead School.
The boys played fantastically well as a team, scoring a total of 8 tries across the two games. It was great to see the boys working well as a team and growing in confidence.
On Wednesday, our Year 7s, along with a group of Year 8 boys who have been regularly attending training, made the journey along the North Wales coast to Rydal Penrhos in Colwyn Bay. The boys were met with some stiff opposition but battled well and never gave up despite things not quite going their way.
A special thanks must go to the staff of Wirral Grammar and Rydal Penrhos for helping provide our boys with some excellent opportunities.
