Celebrating the Power of Partnerships at Abbey Gate College
Published on 11th November 2025
As part of the Independent Schools Council’s Partnership Week, we wanted to share some of the amazing partnership work happening at Abbey Gate College this term.
Our pupils and staff have been actively connecting with local schools and community groups, creating experiences that are both inspiring and educational. Last week, we hosted the Cheshire Schools’ Sustainability Conference, bringing together pupils from 8 schools across the region to explore practical ways to protect the planet – from recycling initiatives to climate action projects, our students led the conversation with energy and insight.
Meanwhile, our Drama Ambassadors, led by Miss Toosey and Sixth Form student Erin, visited Dodleston Primary School to deliver a Greek Chorus workshop. Pupils enthusiastically explored teamwork and communication through performance, discovering the fun and creativity of theatre while using traditional masks.
Our Sixth Formers have also been nurturing young readers at Delamere Primary School during a special reading sessions, where stories and discussion helped to spark a love of reading and strengthen inter-school connections.
Sporting links have flourished too, with Abbey Gate hosting a series of football tournaments this term. Visiting teams from across the region joined our pupils for competitive, fun, and well-spirited matches – a fantastic opportunity for young players to test their skills and build friendships.
And our community engagement doesn’t stop there. Pupils and staff have brought music and performance to local care homes, sharing uplifting performances that have brightened the days of residents and strengthened our ties with the wider community.
These activities are just a snapshot of what is possible when schools work together. Through collaboration, creativity, and commitment, our pupils are learning the true #PowerofPartnerships.
