Bishops win 4-3 on penalties

Last Thursday saw heartbreak for our Senior Football team after playing some breath-taking football to compete with a talented opposition.

The first half was goalless until a great cross saw Dan PW slide in the opener. Abbey Gate College extended the lead when Harry G rewarded for all his forward running.

Every player contributed and played with passion and skill, but the arrears were reduced with a lucky deflection from 25 yards allowing Bishops to score with 15 minutes to go. Despite a rear-guard performance with Kitt B and Cooper SJ outstanding Bishops equalised with 3 minutes left with a crashing far post header.

Full time 2-2.

As always there is an unlucky loser on penalties and Bishops proved the winners, not missing a penalty to run out winners to progress to Mondays final.

A real display of determined and controlled football competing throughout with Will Sand Alex S running themselves into the ground in midfield.
