College U14s Thrive in the Chester and District Rugby Festival

Our U14 College Rugby Squad competed in the Chester & District Festival earlier this week, kindly hosted by Tarporley High School. The boys played three games in total against Tarporley, Christleton and Weaverham, narrowly losing to hosts Tarporley before producing improved performances to earn victories against Christleton and Weaverham.
The boys target for the afternoon was to be physical enough to ‘earn the right to play’ and in the latter two matches they achieved their goal. By gaining the upper hand in the early exchanges, they were able to play the more structured and organised brand of Rugby that they have been working on in training.
With a couple of players missing due to injuries it was nice to see newer members of the squad stepping up and making a claim for a place in the starting XV.
