Joseph Martin, Year 13 and Deputy Head Boy, recently sat his Grade 8 singing exam with the Trinity College of Music.

For this exam Joe had to perform four pieces from a set list as well as technical exercises and sight reading.

Marked out of 100, Joe achieved a mark of 99, putting his result as one of the highest achievers in the country.

The examiner’s report commented:

‘’Phrases were musically shaped … Tone and intonation were secure …. An enjoyable performance … Excellent presentation posture and focus was maintained throughout.”

“You made me want to listen and took ownership of your performance. Wonderful musical singing worthy of this very high distinction mark.’’
