Abbey Gate College students have once again demonstrated their generosity, energy and commitment to supporting others, raising an astonishing £15,011.47 for charity during the last academic year.
At a special assembly last week, representatives from our three House Charities – Stick ‘n’ Step, Seashell Trust and North Wales Animal Rescue Centre (NCAR) – were warmly welcomed to the College to receive the funds raised.
The totals announced were:
Hastings: £4,622.26
Marmion: £5,633.30
Ripley: £4,160.02
Bringing the House Charity grand total to £14,415.58. With a further £595 raised for other causes, our overall giving reached a record-breaking £15,011.47.
Throughout the year, students threw themselves into a wide range of fundraising activities – from energetic House Charity Fun Days and themed non-uniform days, to cake sales, sponsored challenges and competitions.
One of the standout events was the glittering House Black Tie Event, which saw students, staff, families and friends come together for an evening of dinner, dancing and entertainment – all in aid of the House Charities. The evening raised an impressive amount and was a true celebration of the community spirit at Abbey Gate College.
The funds raised will go directly towards supporting the invaluable work of our chosen charities:
Stick ‘n’ Step (@sticknstep) provides support services to children and young people with cerebral palsy and their families.
Seashell Trust (@seashelltrust) helps children and young people with complex learning difficulties, disabilities and additional communication needs.
North Wales Animal Rescue Centre (@ncaruk) rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes animals in need across North Wales.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their creativity, perseverance and enthusiasm in reaching such an extraordinary total. Their efforts will have a real and lasting impact on the lives of others.
