On Thursday 7th May, a team of Abbey Gate College Junior swimmers travelled to Macclesfield Leisure Centre to compete in the annual AJIS U11 Swimming Gala – a fantastic event bringing together pupils from schools across the region.

Our swimmers rose to the occasion, showing great determination and skill in a highly competitive field. Throughout the day, there were strong individual and team performances, with several pupils reaching the finals in their respective events:

• Raphie – 50m Freestyle

• Emily – 50m Backstroke

• Matthew – 100m Individual Medley

• Boys’ 4x25m Medley Relay

A particular highlight came from Toby (J4), who was swimming up two year groups and put in an exceptional effort to finish 4th in the 25m Butterfly final – a remarkable achievement for a pupil of his age.

All of our swimmers represented the College with pride and sportsmanship, and we are incredibly proud of their efforts.
