How to apply to Abbey Gate College

We encourage all potential applicants to visit our College and personally meet with the Head, Mr Jenkinson, for Senior School, or Mrs Hickey, for Junior School.

Applying for Foundation up to Year 11 (age 4-16)

Entry into Years 3-11 is by Entrance Examination and by observation-based assessment for the Infant School (Foundation-Year 2). All students meet with the respective Head during the application process. This can be before or after an application is submitted.

Depending upon the year group of entry, the Entrance Examination consists of a standardised, online test, a creative writing or comprehension exercise, and a mathematics examination; please contact the Admissions team for further information. Please note we cannot provide past papers.

Applying for Sixth Form at Abbey Gate College

Applicants to our Sixth Form have an interview with the Heads of Sixth Form, after which a conditional offer will be made, dependent upon agreed GCSE grade requirements. Our standard requirement is Grade 6 or above in the chosen A-Level subjects (or relevant subject), Grade 5 or above in English and Maths and Grade 4 or above in non-related GCSE subjects.

Further information can be found in our Admissions Policy.
