There is plenty of excitement in the air at Abbey Gate College as our Infant and Junior Playground has been transformed with a vibrant new look.
Bright colours, engaging designs and a range of new playground games have been installed across the tarmac area, creating even more opportunities for fun, friendship and active play. Best of all, the new markings are accessible to all pupils, ensuring that every child can join in and enjoy the space together.
Among the new additions are a four-way hopscotch, beanbag toss and a variety of other interactive games designed to encourage movement, teamwork and imaginative play. The playground is now bursting with opportunities for pupils of all ages to enjoy new challenges, build confidence and have fun with friends.
We are also delighted that the giant chess set, generously donated by the PTA, has found a new permanent home within the playground. This much-loved feature will continue to provide pupils with opportunities to develop strategic thinking, problem-solving skills and friendly competition during breaktimes.
A huge thank you goes to the team at Creative Play, a local Chester company, for their fantastic work in bringing this exciting transformation to life. Their creativity, care and attention to detail have helped create a space that is both inspiring and inclusive for all our pupils.
While we are thrilled with the transformation so far, this is only the beginning. Exciting plans are already underway for brand-new adventure playgrounds, which will provide even more opportunities for exploration, adventure and outdoor fun within our beautiful Aldford grounds.
At Abbey Gate College, we know that play is an important part of childhood, helping children build confidence, develop friendships and create lasting memories.
